CRYSP DC

CRYSP has been making space to play for over a decade now. We started as a group of parents who saw the need for more high-quality playing fields in our neighborhood. Since then we’ve grown into an advocacy group looking to convert underutilized spaces into playing fields. Consider us your community megaphone.

We advocate for more recreational space throughout the DC metro area with our mission, clear brand, and well-funded mandate. As a result of our efforts, Events DC built what is now The Fields at RFK. We manage The Fields with a firm eye toward inclusivity as our mission includes engaging our high need communities. CRYSP actively enrolls the community’s youth in sports programs, facilitates scholarships, and provides personal equipment directly to patrons.

We are still working to create more opportunities for sports and recreation around the District. We are currently exploring potential projects in Kenilworth Park, Anacostia Park, Poplar Point, and other areas looking to make space to play.

Bridging communities is a central tenet of CRYSP’s mission—using sports and recreation to connect people and communities, especially youth. We believe that every resident has the right to respect, safety, and opportunity.
